Cedar River Lodge Update

Kitchenette/Bar Upgrade Option
During the development of the update process we have learned that many guests and owners comment that they would like a more functional kitchenette.  We have also learned that many owners are in need of storage that they can lock and store personal items, food, etc.  With that, we have done a lot of research to determine exactly how we can help remedy these issues.

Here is our solution (see drawings below):

1.  Replace existing base cabinetry with new as provided in each theme. Replace existing sink with a larger, more functional model.  Replace faucet with a more functional brushed stainless model.

2.  Add upper wall cabinetry above existing to provide for storage and an over-the-counter microwave.  This will provide for counter top workspace.

3.  Remove exising dining table and chairs.

4.  Add a "peninsula" of cabinetry that extends from the wall out 5 feet.

5.  Add countertop to peninsula that extends 6 feet from the wall to overhang 1 foot on the end and will overhang 1 foot on the living room side to provide bar top. The countertop will consist of professionally installed 12" x 12" granite tile as specified in each theme.  The tile will be grouted with expoxy which is stain resistant, easily cleanable and much more durable than traditional grout.

Granite tiles are more cost effective than granite slab.  If you would like a price to for slab please let us know.

6.  Provide bar stools to replace the dining chairs.

7.  Replace the existing dining light fixture with an improved light fixture.

8.  Our electrician will install an electrical outlet at the top of the peninsula on the wall to provide a convenient plug for computers, etc.

9.  The new kitchenette area will be tiled with the wood plank tile as specified in each theme.  It will extend from the entry door under all cabinetry and terminate at the end of the closet across to the living room wall.

10.  Remove the existing large desk for more space.

We feel that this will provide owners and guest with a majority of benefits including a more functional and larger dining and workspace and provide storage where owners can install a lock to store personal items.

We have met with our electrician, plumber, building codes department and property management. Because of electrical and plumbing loads we are not able to provide a dishwasher or cooktop surface to any unit that does not already have them.
